I was military aircrew for many years. We operated entirely in GMT (UTC) but, obviously, our social and domestic lives were lived in local time. In winter in the UK that was no problem, the times are the same. Summer time with an hour difference sometimes caught people out but going overseas, particularly to the US, caused horrendous problems - we nearly missed bar opening on some occasions :-)
