When you do the validation - and as part of it - you call another form. In
some cases - it may just be easier to pop-up a container on the screen -
that exists within the Same Form - as opposed to calling a totally different
form.

My forms tend to be pretty big as it is. That is why I think a different form would probably be better in *my* case. I have used the technique of displaying data on a form that does not have much direct data entry.

I have two forms (one for invoicing and one for rate changes) that have a low number of values that can be changed for the client in question. These can be directly edited, but both forms are usually used by clicking the buttons for which procedure to run.

The invoicing form has 34 buttons plus two or three for each work order displayed. The rate change form only has 22 buttons plus one for each rate displayed.

At least that is what I've started doing a good bit over the past couple of
years...

I was thinking more of cases where the user has to make a choice, so I would want it to be in his face, but I can see where your idea could work in other areas.
