The font I'm using for the main screen field labels is Arial - 12 - not
Bold. When view on XP - they come out looking REALLY Skinny! Also, the font
on the menu buttons - is Times New Roman - 12 - Bold Italic. The buttons
look Great on Win7 - but, under XP - they actually look fuzzy - almost like
I am looking at a screenshot image with Compression Artifacts - even though
I am actually looking at a running system.

I'm not sure if this applies to OSes after Win XP, but in XP, try changing the screen font "smoothing method":

Desktop>Properties>Appearance>Effects>

See what's selected under "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:". Default is "Standard" but usually "ClearType" looks better.

Beyond that, make sure you're doing these tests on identical monitors and graphics cards--or at least on a variety of different ones for both OSes--so you're not being unduly influenced by the characteristics of particular hardware.
