OK, understood. Will see how this KillDisk works for now before looking
into other options...

Believe you can find a copy at freedos if you ever need one, although that
might be the wrong link as I haven't looked for it in a very long time

When I went back to the Disk Format option - that DOS option wasn't
available. . So - I decided to run that KillDisk solution by Dave - and am
doing now - will see how it goes....

Actually - when I went to do the Quick Format on the SSD - I did see
an option about DOS. So, I shall consider this option.

Subject: [NF] Win7 Install Woes...
Hey folks,
Some of you may remember I posted recently about trying to revive a
Dead PC of mine using an older Win XP Pro 64 OS install - that I was
missing the Prod. Key for.
Well - long story short - kinda - I found my Win2K install CD - and I
installed Win2K on that PC - so it was relatively up and running.
But, the
Video card in that baby is a Hi-End one for 3D CG - a Quadro 2000D job.
Problem is - no drivers for it for Win2K. Not shocking - since W2K is
Way old - where as the Video card is only like maybe 2 years old.
As such, I broke down and got myself an OEM CD of Win7 64-bit Home
version.
Just bought it yesterday.
Problem seems to be that since its supposed to be installed on a NEW
PC
- its like it REFUSED to get installed onto this PC where I installed
W2K. I even wiped the HD - removed the OS install - and did a Quick
Format.
But,
when I try to then boot this PC with that W7 install CD - it just
keeps trying to boot to that HD (its actually an SSD). And, now I get
the error that Boot Mgr is missing - so, obviously is trying to boot
to that SSD HD.
So - its like M$ has screwed me over - and will NOT Let me install
this W7K onto this PC - since it can "See" that Something had
previously been installed on that HD - and therefore - its no longer
a NEW HD or NEW PC!
This is SO Frustrating. Yeah - I've built 3 of my previous PC systems
- but,
I'm not a Serious HW kinda guy...
So - any advice would be GREATLY Appreciated!
TIA,
-K-
