I downloaded a couple, they looked suspicious immediately. The text was poor quality (i.e. very low res - hard to read) and there was one piece of text on the bottom of each page, in a nice clear blue, obviously not scanned...

IOW, it looked like the book was scanned and made into a PDF, with the local insignia added to each page. Poor effort.

However, has anyone thought about warning the publishers? They may not know and might have cause to get really angry. Does anyone KNOW the publishers?

I was a technical reviewer for an Apress book on SQL Server 2012. I E-mailed my contact there. He said that it is a never-ending battle.
