Yeah, that's pretty atrocious. The website says "Copyright 2008" so I
suspect they're using an older technique the new browsers (and security
restrictions) don't like. Reading the "View Source" is a little obfuscated,
since I don't speak German :). The search widget uses javascript to submit
a form to search.html, the page pops up throbber animations (which might be
Flash you're blocking?) and then the browser is forced to a new page with
the results.

Works fine here, in Chromium and FireFox :)

Which IE are you trying to get to work as a browser?

You might consider:

1. Test by adding this one site to your "Trusted Site" lists in IE to give
it a lower security fence to jump over.
2. Check to see if you have a teeny little error flag somewhere on the
browser chrome (they move it from version to version) showing you have a
scripting error.
3. Try changing the mode IE uses on the web page. They have some
"compatibility" modes that make the recent IEs broken like the past ones
were.
4. Contact the web developers or web site support, as you're likely not the
only one with this problem, so they should have the best solution:

5. Get a real browser ;)
6. Find another vendor.
