I was just looking into downloading OpenOffice - as that's what I have
use for Several years now. Thing is, I got a new PC setup here - and I
can't find any install files for OO. I started searching the web for it
- and found a Wiki that stated "*Active successor projects includeApache
OpenOffice <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_OpenOffice>,LibreOffice
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LibreOffice>andNeoOffice
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NeoOffice>.*"
So - do most people here suggest sticking w/LibreOffice? I know this is
an OLD Thread - but, since I found it in my email folders, since I was
looking for OO - I figured I would follow-up on it here & get some feedback.

Subject: [NF] Another Alternative to Open Office
<http://www.libreoffice.org/>
Win / Mac / Linux versions.
Read a review last week... sounded like it wasn't ready for prime time
yet...
I read a review yesterday that made it sound like *THE* new FOSS office
suite. Also said that latest release of OO was met by the sound of
crickets. Based on that, and the mention that OO had been taken over by
Oracle, (which I missed, because for the last month or so I've had my
head up my.... ) I went to get it, saw that it had a PortableApps
version, and got it from www.portableapps.com
Tried it, and for a few seconds was impressed that my spreadsheet looked
EXACTLY like OpenOffice, before I went "DUH!". Anyway, seems good,
seems stable. I'll give it a week, and if no show-stoppers, I'll
probably bid a fond farewell to Open Office.
