Charles, According to this page: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/system-requirements You need Windows 8 Pro to use the Hyper-V technology from Microsoft. Do you want to run FPW as a window in Windows 8, or a in an XP desktop as a window in Windows 8? VMWare Workstation is a great tool. I use it daily. I do not use the functionality it has called Unity. It allows the guest OS (XP desktop) to be hidden, and the start menu of the guest OS to be available in the host. If you want to run an XP desktop as a window in 8, upgrade to Pro and install the Hyper-V solution. Neither option is free. YMMV.
