Where it still falls down a bit is wireless and 3D-accelerated graphics
drivers, although this is as much due to the fact that the card vendors
have varying degrees of commitment to *nix.

For example, I have Ubuntu 13.04 on a 18-month old Lenovo laptop. During
the install it picked up and used the WiFi just fine, downloaded updates
etc. However once installed the WiFi just stopped working and I had to
cable it into the router to get an internet connection and then figure
out how to obtain 'additional drivers' to get it working. WTF was wrong
with the ones you used during the install!
