And OS X, since it's BSD-based?

Frankly, if I walk into a hospital for a procedure, and I see they are
using Windows machines hooked up to any medical devices I get worried.
Windows is just not  built for that sort of thing. Most of what I've seen
looks like HP-UX and OSF/Motif front ends, which is fine by me.

If they do have any Mac machines, especially a Pro, you could install
Nagios on that.
