Al, Yes, the IDE is on the PC and you debug the app by uploading it onto the Android device connected via a USB cable. Either that or you can in fact debug it wirelessly but it isn't as quick.
I've just added Wireless FTP and ODBC database access (VFP and SQL) into my app and it just works... brilliant. The lates release V3 has interractive debugging where you can actually stop/step the app in real time and actually modify the coding as you go along, assuming that the code isn't thread based of course as multi threading is an option for apps. You can debug through a PC based Androide emulator (Eclipse) but it is much slower than using an actual device. The IDE is very good with sep through debugging. I can probably get you a little more off via a recommendation if you want. BTW at the moment I have a 30% off on the web page making it just over 50 quid but its 2 years upgrades. If it's a PC development I will go for it as you recommend it. Al -----Original Message----- Jeff, I have it working on Android using B4A and have used B4A for about 9 months now. Brilliant product and you pick it up easily after VFP as classes/oops is very similar to the way VFP does things. Once you get your head around the event model it is a breeze and the amount of addon libraries available are amazing. For example I rewrote our Stock Take app which was on PDA's in C# in 3 days including the B4A learning curve, interfaced it into our VFP system with wireless data transfer with no problems at all. The free version doesn't allow you to use libraries or create classes but at about 80 UK pounds with 3 years updates it isn't going to break the bank. Support from the writer is also first class.
