On my 7" Galaxy that I've had just over a year and use daily, I can still
easily get a full day out of it and then it is down to about 20% charge so I
don't have a problem with battery life with GPS & wireless live. The other
cheaper androids at work can manage about 6 hours with GPS & Wireless on.

As for Software updates the Galazy is great, it just uploads them and always
seems to keep up just as my S3 phone does....

Al, you should have got a better model!

Subject: RE: [NF] NEW Tablets - TOO Cheap???

One thing I have learnt is the battery life seems crap on android devices.
Much as I hate apple and the culture of apple control, I have to admit the ipad
charge lasts a while, probably because it turns itself off while you reading
something. Also apple do update the ios even on my "old" ipad2.
Samsung are crap at updates so unless you want to stay with old versions of
android, even old out the new pack, forget it. It is a pity the new google
tablet has a pathetic camera and no sd slot else I may have considered that.
As for the cheap ones. Bad battery life making them next to useless unless you
can charge them regular. Also the chance of updates is nonexistent. I still
have a galaxy S1 phone and it is kept up to date with cyanogenmod. I am waiting
for the kit kat version as they say it gives the speed back.
I got an acer Iconia B1. Battery is better than the real cheap ones but still
not good.

You know what they say - if "It seems to good to be True - it probably Is!"...
