The spec of the PC said it runs WinXP. 32-bit or 64-bit??

Could you boot into Safe Mode? If it worked and if you suspected
that it's a recent Win Update that caused the problem, you could
remove Installed Updates by booting into Safe Mode.

Do you have a spare hard disk? Try a clean install with WinXP!

You should upgrade your OS to Window$ 7, to take full advantage of the
TRIM feature for SSDs. Also, the support of WInXP will end in coming April.
