Correct, but the max port speed is just the upper limit...you don't have
to set your software/device to that value to use the port.
I doubt that the text message data size is enough to make any noticeable
difference between 9600 and any higher setting.

real careful you matched the settings e.g. 9600,n,8,1
I seem to be able to send txts via my port number with
.settings="9600,n,8,1"
Does anyone here know what the 9600 refers to?
Is my 230400 the equivalent of 9600, and if so, should I change it to
"230400,n,8,1" ?
