I run an Analyze nightly on our VSS repository (.NET projects, no VFP). I keep 7 days of logs, so I can see what is going on. Everyday analyze.log reports no errors. Always looks like this: Analyze Visual SourceSafe Version 6.0d (Build 31222) Database analysis in progress @ 11/01/06;10:50p. Building the project list. Checking cross file relationships. Checking parent/child relationships. Started analyzing user management system. Successfully completed analyzing the user management system. Validating the Rights system. Analysis complete @ 11/01/06;10:50p No errors or inconsistencies found.
However a few days ago it started creating an analyze.bad file, and does so every day. It is a series of two lines that repeat over and over again, something like this: \\dev\eisdevc\programs\mnintranet\data\j\jqbaaaaa <file://\\dev\eisdevc\programs\mnintranet\data\j\jqbaaaaa> \\dev\eisdevc\programs\mnintranet\data\l\lqbaaaaa <file://\\dev\eisdevc\programs\mnintranet\data\l\lqbaaaaa> If Analyze reports no problems, but gives me a 'bad' file... do we really have a problem or not?
