Time to go back for more coffee :) In your OP, you said you want to end up in PostgreSQL (which I encourage), so I'm not sure why you're spending all this time with MySQL. Perhaps you can clarify what you've got and where you want to go with it. >From what I've read, (http://dia-installer.de/doc/en/loadsave-chapter.html), export files from database tools like phpMySQL are likely going to be XML files describing the _structure_ of tables and fields, while DiaXML is storing the structured drawing elements (lines, boxes, labels) with no database-structural content. Dia is a drawing tool, for output, and not a CASE tool. xCase was a tool we used with a lot of success in the 90's and 00's. There was a similar MySQl tool, Database Designer or something, that I think Oracle discontinued. I tried a KDE tool, Komposer, but didn't have a lot of luck getting support for it. If you've got access to the MS tools, Visio at one time had a pretty good set of data manipulation tools (in fact, before it was absorbed by the Borg, John M. Miller was really excited about using it as a Business Rules tool.) of course, you may need the Enterprise Ultimate Data Architect version :) -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html --- _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/CACW6n4s87DJC5eOdvbDQ+-0qF14ZESV7XjsLC2b+ve0CZHg=a...@mail.gmail.com ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
