Hello

Having become reconciled to taking this machine to the local recycling dump,
I thought I would offer it first to members of the group who, I suspect, may
share some of my feelings about waste.

It is a Fujitsu DL3400 wide-carriage dot-matrix printer which cost a fortune
back then – the thick end of £1000 of our British pounds (US $1600?).
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work: somebody I rang said something about
probably the motherboard going phut why don't you get a new one.

I have seen this printer advertised recently for about $400-500 in the USA
but no commercial company in Britain is interested. (Bit baffling, as there
are many companies offering ribbons for it, which suggests that these
machines are still very much around.)

If you want it, you are very welcome. You will get the whole caboodle:
printer, cables, manual, original packaging, sales leaflets, even a couple
of unused ribbons, though these may be toast.

(I don't know how much it would cost to deliver but will find out if there
are any takers.)

all the best

Brian
