I use a "loader" from VMP that copies a file from c:\users\public\applications\myapp\update to ...\myapp. It has worked flawlessly for years. With Windows 8 & Windows Server 2008 it will not copy so I have to do it manually. It doesn't give me an error message either. Just doesn't copy.

Jeff,

I also use a loader at some sites (I don't think it's the VMP loader but I did it so long ago I can't remember) and these sites have started getting Windows 7 and 8 PCs over the last few years and my loader still runs. Maybe you need to adjust the user rights in the folder that you are copying to? I can't recall having to do anything special to get it to work.

Frank, it's only on a couple of installations. I don't normally have the opportunity to change permissions, so I just copy it over on the one or two customers I have that do that. It is computer specific.
