>From a document I have from 2004:

The recommended screen resolution is 800 x 600 or higher. The setting
for this is normally within the Control Panel, although a number of
video cards, supplied with programs, will also allow you to change
resolution.

Ensure you are using small fonts. The setting for this is within the
Control Panel - Display - Appearance. The 'scheme' should be set to
'Windows Standard', not 'Windows Standard (Large)' or anything else. If
the 'Active Title Bar' or 'Inactive Title Bar' have larger fonts the
Error 30 message could be displayed.
If you are using a large task manager (or a similar task bar, including
the Office short cut bar, Dashboard, SoundBlaster's Live! Manager, Net
Medic etc) this will reduce the size of the screen just enough to cause
a problem. Setting these to 'Auto Hide' will solve the majority of
problems.

Microsoft has identified several video cards which cause general
protection faults, or general display problems in FoxPro. These are:
AST Power Premium 486 with VGA motherboard.
ATI Ultra Graphics Pro (local bus).
COMPAQ Qvision.
Dell 486/20 with VGA on motherboard.
Diamond Stealth64 video driver.
Genoa 7900 MM card.
Hercules Dynamite Power VESA with ET 4000 chipset.
MACH32.
MATROX MGA video driver using 1024 x 768 resolution.
NEC 2A.
Oak VGA card with 640 x 480 x 256 colours for 286 or higher processor.
Orchid Fahrenheit 1280 card using Microsoft Windows version 3.1.
Speed Star 24x.
TIGA 1024 x 768 x 256 small fonts.
Trident 8900C.
Number 9 Reality 332 video card with Hawkeye driver.

It should be noted that the above cards are very old by now and none of
them will have been on sale since the early to mid-1990s. However older
PCs may still be using them, and newer cards from the same manufacturers
may still have the problems.

To test the compatibility of a video card and FoxPro for Windows, use
one of the standard Windows drivers that are shipped with Windows, for
example, the VGA or Super VGA driver. If the problem no longer occurs
when you are using the standard Windows video driver, contact the
vendor.

Install the card under Windows as 'Standard Display Types/Super VGA'.
Install the monitor driver as ‘Standard Monitor Types / Super VGA
1024x768’. Under Windows 95/98/ME reduce the graphics acceleration
setting to ‘none’ under Display Properties.
