I'm *not* recommending you use it, and honestly I don't know if I'm even still hosting it, but way back in the day (2002 or so) I had generation of VFP binary files from scctext-like text format:

It was pretty slick for what it was, but I failed to convince people that source code in source control *must* be text, not binary. It handled the 2-way transformation seamlessly. I still use it in the lone VFP app I maintain.

I didn't particularly like the text file format used, but still it was text and so diffs and merges could work.

Back then I was trying as hard as I could to justify continued use of Foxpro. In the end, there just wasn't any working around some key things, and that combined with Microsoft's obvious abandonment of VFP caused me to take a few baby steps over to Python, where I've stayed pretty much ever since.

Not me. I know a few people had switched their SCCTEXT to another tool

You CAN do it - in fact, I'm surprised no one has built a tool to do it .

Hi

I'm using the SCC utility to create source backups of VCX, FRX and SCX
files.

Has anyone come across a way to recreate the original files from the
VCA, SCA and FRA files SCC creates?
