I completely agree. I put a Linux box on my desk in... 2002? And relied on my Windows box for years... but gradually I got used to doing more and more on the other box. Just because you're fluent in English, Canadian, and American doesn't mean you'll pick up Australian immediately. It'll take time. Ooops, wrong analogy. But my kids, 4, 6, 10, 14, 18, all use Linux boxes as their day to day computers. Email, browsing, games, office, music, drawing.... they do their schoolwork on SuSE, Mandrake and Fedora boxes and have never had a problem, except for the occasional recalcitrant floppy.
