That was it!  Kinda 8-)  I had entered the rowsource,  and then had the
additional code of thisgrid.rowsource = 'bob',  removing rowsource as
entered in the properties fixed it...  Ahhh...  Life is good again... 8-)

A shame really when such simple things create such joy!
