I think its memory on board. I would not think the SD card, which is extra
memory if the device supports it, would cause your problem. What I don't
understand is why reverting to original rom and killing off data will not
work. That should do it unless there is something else wrong, maybe with the
memory.
Does the device have an SD card slot? If so you might be able to load
cyanogenmod onto that and load it from boot menu.

I am a little wary of taking it apart, but that may be an option if all
else fails. Is there an actual card in there somewhere? Oo just flash
memory embedded on the motherboard?
