That certainly is a weird response... Maybe they meant to say that your license covers only a single machine and you are not allowed to install one more in the VM? Or, the asked for the specs of the hardware and meant that it would be too slow when two instances of Avast are scanning at the same time. A google search on "virtual xp mode avast" indicates a number of issues with Avast. If that was the reason for Avast to tell you not to install a virus scanner, you should certainly check out another one that is working. As others have said, a virtual machine connected to any virtual or physical hardware is just as vulnerable as a physical machine and can just as easy infect any other machine on your network. -- Christof --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html --- _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/cal4qjhjvypvvbgjrqtkgvuyknedsbjk2erkm8hkw8p2nksz...@mail.gmail.com ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
