Did the same thing as well just not using VFP to push the PDF api buttons.

We were taking judges orders on a case and applying his Sig to space in the
document.  This replaced the electronic signature pad in place.  We had a
template and our filed was for a jpg image to be inserted.  We knew who's
image to use so it was pretty easy to add in at the bottom.

The middle of the form was a bear!
