How about making an input form for putting in the text string needed for
your connection string.  This way you can identify what you need for this
to work for any machine.





Steve:  I kind of do that by dropping through IF statements:

     IF connection returns < 0
         try another string
     IF that connection returns < 0
         try another string
     etc.

It works perfectly except on this one system.

Problem is simple.  You need to have the product that your client does
instead of an earlier version.

I don't use Office and I bought 2003, 2007 & recently 2010 to support customers. I was just guessing that I could figure this out without purchasing another version of Office that I won't use. But, I will go to a local customer of mine and install the software to figure it out. He has 2013.
