To build on comments from Jeff and Ted ...

For capturing fielded info, we used a slight variation of Jeff's
technique: <field> :: <value>. The difference is a double colon which
allowed values to have colons without any special delimiters. We wrote
our own HTML to text conversion code to handle richly formatted emails.

Per Ted's comment on scalability: I agree that VFP is not a scalable
platform. When you consider the costs of your development time and the
ActiveX controls, the Email2DB product seems reasonably priced and a
better platform to build on. Why not start with their cloud hosted
solution and if the pricing or feature set doesn't meet your needs,
consider a tool like Python to build out your final solution.

Good luck!
Malcolm
