Or, "L.A." for short. I don't think there is a finite list Prefixes, or Suffixes, for that matter. We have "Townships" and "Purchase" and all sorts of quirky names in New Hampshire I hadn't encountered elsewhere. "Gilmanton Ironworks" for example. I did use a commercial service when building a geo-spatial list for a client around a decade ago. They supplied name(s) -- most city/town/villages have several -- along with ZIP codes and long/lat. I think you can get SOME of that from USPS and Kevin suggests, and you might also check the U.S. Census Bureau, that has lots of stuff, much of it publicly available. OTOH, we might ask what you're up to. Rather than build local data that's likely out-of-date before you're done parsing, maybe there are already some services on the web that can supply what you're after.
