When the stars are aligned and the technology gods are smiling, the concept of online meetings made famous by WebEx works great. BUT there's always Murphy waiting around the corner to screw things up. My initial GotoMeeting experience was good, but as I've branched out, the IE plugin has turned out to be a hassle, the service has appeared to get slower based on customer feedback, and the tech support just plain sucks - its slow and never has anything to offer but generic replies. I'm excited by GatherPlace.net. Its not as polished a website as GotoMeeting, but the service seems to work ok with the caveat that I've only played around with this service - I have not stress tested or used in a customer call situation. If there are other online services you are considering, I would be happy to share my comments. BTW: All the online services I've come across offer some type of free trial so you can safely evaluate these services without spending any money. Note: Some services (like GotoMeeting/WebEx) may require a credit card for unique identification purposes.
