Windows 10 is a free upgrade from Windows 7/8 for a year. Meaning that you can obtain the upgrade without paying for it, for a year. If you do that, it's just a normal upgrade, it doesn't expire or anything. If you want to upgrade after that time-frame, you have to buy a copy. This is aimed really at getting home users upgraded. Most of the corporate world is still on Windows 7 and do not upgrade at the drop of a hat. By the time those guys get round to it, they'll be paying for it. Also Microsoft seems to be moving more towards a services model for all of its cash cows, being Office, Windows and the gaming platform. So presumably they think they can work that way instead. -- Alan Bourke alanpbourke (at) fastmail (dot) fm _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/1433927534.3909541.291652185.6abfa...@webmail.messagingengine.com ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
