That's certainly an issue. I know my clients simply go out to the
office store and buy machines with "Windows" on them. There's an
expectation you're getting the same thing you bought the last time,
and it just isn't fulfilled.

And it's not just ignorant consumers. We techies get caught by
"deprecated" APIs all the time.
