I hate those kind os 'slip-ins'. But Adobe does it with google tool bar and the number of times Ive had to uninstall mcafee - despite the presence of existing anit-virus software....
Everyone does and I hate all of them. Bing's not a bad search engine, I just think trying to slipstream in a feature like this is underhanded and looks desperate. Most everything seems functional after the upgrade/date, and "Modern" removal. Not that deep under Tools, Options, Advanced, they have turned on Automatic Updates. I have mixed feelings about this. As a former conference speaker, I was superstitious about doing _anything_ to the machine the week before a conference, because things would stop working. OTOH, for most consumers, it's the only way they stay up-to-date.
