James,

If you buy the MSDN Professional subscription, you have a license to use the
included products for development and testing purposes as long as you want,
without having to subscribe again (unless you want the monthly shipments of
updates to continue past the first year).

You also get a license to use Office for business purposes (beyond just
development and testing) and that is good beyond the 1 year subscription.

There are some versions of Microsoft subscriptions where the license IS
LIMITED to just the 1 year subscription (notably the Action Pack
subscription for MS Partners, which does NOT include VFP, etc), but the
"normal" MSDN subscriptions have a license that extends beyond the
subscription term (unless they changed something when I wasn't looking).

VFP9 = $ 649.00
VS 2005 Prof. Edition = $799.00
Total = $1,448.00

Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition with MSDN Professional Subscription
Which includes VFP 9 = $1,199.00

But, the MSDN requires an annual renewal fee, right? After only two years
I've got $2,400 invested with the MSDN option (plus $1,200 each year after
that...)
