Visual FoxPro isn't the only database that uses this concept.  Ever
heard of PICK databases, now know as multi-valued databases like IBM's
Universe and Unidata.  Cache also has the idea of querying the data
inline with your code, as the execution environment and database
environment are one and the same.

Although it is probably more likely that they DID get the idea from VFP.

LOL!  I could have swore that the idea for LINQ was spawned from Visual 
FoxPro's great abilities with local data!!!  Not even so much as a 
mention....perhaps I'm mistaken?
