Probably.  Have the exe do something to notify you when there is a true
condition in your app.  Email someone with the details they need to
act/react upon.

Then set this up as a scheduled event to run as often as you need to.  I
have an app that reads all new emails to a specific account and I rip the
shipping details from UPS/FedEx and update the sales order that drove the
3rd party order.  Then the app pulls all that and pushes it up to the
company website for customers to use in tracking of packages.

Been working for 8-9 years now with little change.
