Subject: [NF] My Exhibit & FW: World Maker Faire New York 2015

Hello ProFoxers,

As many of you already know – when I’m not working by day doing Database Dev
stuff – I’m heavily involved w/3D Printing on my off hours. And, for any of you
in the NYC area this weekend who might be interested – there is the Maker
Faire. Its taking place Sat. & Sun. in Corona Park Queens – location of the
World’s Fair circa early 1960’s. Some of you have already seen some pics of my
big 3D Printed Dragon. Well, that Dragon will be on Exhibit at my booth. So –
if you are around – and find this interesting – please do try to find me at my
booth if you decide to attend.

I am forwarding the below e-mail (although I removed as best I can many of the
images – since they won’t go thru on this list anyway. But, hopefully many of
the links below ARE viable.

Thanks,
Kurt

So Much to Experience at World Maker Faire…

Here's just a small sample of the amazing things you'll find:

• 3D Printing Village—Filled with the latest on additive manufacturing, the 3D
Printing Village is the place to be to get started as well as build on current
skills, tools, products, and more.

• Aerial Sports League Drone Arena—Watch the world's best drone pilots fight
and race in the Aerial Sports League's First Annual dSports Open. It's the
largest drone sports event ever held in New York City. Two full days of FPV
racing, drone combat, freestyle and more.

• Coke Zero & Mentos—The always popular, Bellagio-esque, fountains of soda from
Eepybird will be back to wow the crowds. Kids—of all ages!—will love this live
science experiment that they can also try at home.

• Kids & Family Fun—There will be a wide variety of projects and hands-on
activities throughout the Faire at which children and families can learn more
and engage in making. Areas such as Make: Learn to Solder and the NYSCI Village
are just two examples of the many opportunities at the event for kids and
families.

• Life size Mousetrap—Fantastically handcrafted, this 16 piece, 50,000-lb.
interactive kinetic sculpture is a giant Rube Goldberg-style contraption
complete with a Vaudevillian style show!

• Make: Health—This area is new to the Faire and will introduce medical
advancements and home hacks for healthcare sciences and technologies using 3D
printing, microelectronics, and more to give patients, caregivers, and
healthcare providers expanded and personalized options.

• Moat Boat Paddle Battle—Organized by the Ocean State Maker Mill from Rhode
Island, the Moat Boat Paddle Battle puts 3D printing and design skills to the
test. Battlers design and print their own rubber band powered paddleboat and
race it against other competitors for a chance at glory.

• Power Racing Series—Attendees can watch teams from around the country compete
in this nationwide circuit in their self-created electric vehicles—made from
kids' ride-on vehicles!—as they race on unique, full-size tracks.

• Power Tool Drag Racing—The "triple crown of tool racing" presented by the
Cincinnati MakerSpace Hive13, this unique version of Power Tool Drag Racing
arrives to the Faire with general public match races, exotic exhibition races,
and the main bracket tournament competition.

• Viscusi Gallery Dark Room—Another special area of the Faire where attendees
can take in projects that require the dark to come to life. The Lumiphonic
Creature Choir, Cubes from the Near Future, and Paint by RGB from Maker Jared
Ficklin are just some of the many projects that will populate this space.

• Young Makers—This entire area will be filled with innovative and inspiring
projects all created by Makers under the age of 18. From handmade wooden toys
to 3D printed prosthetics, the Young Makers area will delight attendees with
the incredible level of ingenuity and creativity that will be on display.
