I forgot to say....

.. removing the object code forces VFP to regenerate it.

Unlike the .fxp recompile scenario which seems to confuse VFP sometimes
(leaving the original compiled version there and not regenerating a new
version) .scx/vcx files are generally well behaved and get overwritten by a
compile all. .fxp's can be really stubborn and even an individual recompile of
the .prg will not regen a new version unless the .fxp is removed first.

Gene,
A clean compile doesn't always regen all the .fxp's even if you select the
compile all option in VFP. As Al says, delete all the .fxp files first.

Also, as I sayd and if you are careful and know what you are doing then remove
all the generated object code from the .scx files. Note that if you do this and
you don't have the source code then the .scx and/or .vcx will become unusable
and result in error as both source code and generated object code from the
source code is held in the .scx/.vcx. If the original writer has removed the
source code and you then remove the object code you end up with nothing!! Make
backups first!

Nope. The issue happens even on a start of VFP with a clean compile.
