Hi Andy,
> but I still don't like their lock-in fee structure. ---------------------------- I assume by that you mean that it's being sold as a subscription model. The pricing page isn't very clear on the difference between 'limited support' and 'support' but assuming the highest price applies ($ 1,649/yr) http://www.alaska-software.com/landing/foxpro/qanda.cxp I can't complain too loudly since I've also opted for this pricing model. Have to wonder why MS didn't do that (but then I think we know by now they never intended to keep/promote FoxPro in the first place, and from that shadowy perspective nonsense makes sense) I think the most important part is that we're not painting ourselves into a corner by continuing VFP dev, and from that point of view the cost is secondary. Let's hope more players and competition improves our options over time. BTW, I'm not against Python at all, I just don't want to even think about having to re-write a half million lines of code Bill _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
