Menus and dropdowns use the system libraries for UI. If there's
something hung up in them, it makes VFP stop working. Have you tried
turning off and then back on the affected workstation?

I've noticed that more of the machines are starting to do something
different with "Restart" that is not a full, shutdown to cold restart
but a "soft" restart that doesn't always fix problems. I tell clients
to select "Shutdown" then five Mississippis then hit the power button.
