Kurt,
The great thing about VFP is that you can learn the language.... not possible
with .Net interfaced languages that are basically all macro driven. I love the
fact that by learning about 100 key function calls you can do in excess of 90%
of all your work and easily find the "special functions" when you want to.

The same goes for Pascal which is why I used to love it along with the earlier
Algol 60 that I learnt on followed by Cobol and Fortran 4. Simple core
languages with sophisticated data handling.

Hey Christof - I do agree - unless picked up by 20-somethings considering VFP
now Hip - it won't happen. Too bad. Since, it could be a simple way for many
people to just dabble in making small database programs for personal usage.
Whether its for making simple phones/addr book, database for recipes, or sports
scores - the possibilities are endless - and designing w/VFP can be Quick and
easy!

Downside - this forum could get BLOATED w/Newbie questions - which might drive
people here a bit Nuts...

:-)

I do have as much insight into Microsoft these days as everyone else.
Unless FoxPro / xBase suddenly becomes a hip choice among twenty-year olds I
don't see anything happen at all.

With regards to other's doing something there's been a constant stream of small
and larger projects that want to provide a way forward for VFP developers. None
of those has yet emerged as the generally accepted solution.
