I use the terms "master" and "slave" in my app. He asked me to not use "slave" with anyone else, presumably because of someone taking it wrong. I said that I would see if I could come up with something. So what can I use for alternatives? I have Web-searched to see what others are doing and did not find anything that would fit for my second case. I use "master" and "slave" in two senses. 1) We have the Master Station from which the high-level functionality of the system is done. We have various Slave Stations which are used mainly for DE. The Master Station is also used for DE. I have come up with "master" and "satellite". Reasonable? 2) The second one is puzzling me. I have forms with an (often) key portion (master) and a non-key portion (slave). "key" and "non-key" are awkward and do not communicate well to a non-IT person. "parent" and "child" is not accurate. What do you suggest?
