You're missing the point.
WE can vote them out if they don't do the job we elected them for.

People always throw up their hands and say we can't change the system.
If the majority of people will work together, we control it, not them
controlling us.

Unfortunately as demonstrated on this list, we don't work together because
we don't see things the same way.

That old saying, United we stand, Divided we fall is just as true now as it
ever was...

Virgil, we live in a democracy but our government is a that of a Republic.
Our congressional representatives are free to vote however they choose
regardless of what the majority of their constituencies prefer.  Our
President is elected by the Electoral College and as such, someone with a
plurality of individual citizens' votes can lose the election.

Just thought I would clarify that in case you'd forgotten.
