That sounds a lot like a family tech support call I got earlier this week. In this case, AVG was promoting its premium version (free had been installed) and lots of links were missing from the desktop and the Win10 tile-thingie interface (do we still call it Metro? Modern? That stupid tile thing?). Much panic ensued, but it appears nothing was actually deleted. Automated updates. What could possibly go wrong?
