When you get some of the wider monitors and we are talking about a single user, the curve is supposed to provide so eye relief. I have yet to find one that I like tho. I do have a wide monitor on my desk in my office at home and I've yet to find an issue looking at text or pictures that are out on the ends of the viewing area.
