Rafael,

as soon as you got your SQL-Query from the Server it will be in a cursor at 
your VFP client.  Therefor that cursor indeed has a recno(), and that's what 
Andy is talking about. Thus Andy's solution is totally useful, as long as you 
need that result only at the VFP side.
