All of our data comes from a DW and not from the live ERP system of record. That system has 280 gigs of Dimension and Fact data that spans 10 years now.
It has taken 2 years since first cubes were presented to the company but Power BI went in real fast and we had to hire a FT just to keep knocking out more content for users requests. Having the data remerged in the cube makes it much easier for naming and safety of data. Power BI isn't the only tool for this. It is CHEAPER overall but we are on prem and not put our data in the cloud yet.
