Yes, you would get prompted for credentials which should then get remembered - 
but why would this happen in a properly configured Active Directory setup? The 
only time I see this is where somebody is trying to use the 'workgroups' level 
authentication on a small network.

Maybe we move in different corporate environments! At a  guess those with a lot 
of very legacy systems might be using them more.
