I try to comment appropriately, but sometimes, I miss putting down what ends up being a critically missing detail years later. If my code were less reliable, then maybe, I would have looked at it sooner and would be more familiar with it for when I finally have to change it.

The "Set it and forget it." mentality does have the problem of "forget it".
