Ah! And the Zyxel does? I missed that in the original post. >So my questions: >If I change my old router* to e.g. 192.168.2.1 do I have to disable dhcp on it? - if I don't would I have the potential to hang a .2.x subnet off it? - if yes why would I do that? Don't change your old router. Let it route. Leave everything as is. They key is to tell the WRT its role in the network. Set up your WRT54GS as a gateway rather than a router. I'd try to disable the DHCP on the WRT unit, as your existing router should be able to issue IP address over the WRT. > Assuming I don't hang anything directly off the old router how do I access it (and its modem) from the .1.x network? I don't believe you need to create two separate networks. (If you do, you'll need to create routing rules between them.) So, you should be able to access them directly by IP address. > (Which sounds like the same question as how do I access my BT voip box which has so far refused to move off 192.168.192.1) It does. If you haven't changed anything else, you should be able to access it the same way. -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
