I'm not going to ask you to embrace my opinion, so you are safe there.
What does irritate me is that everybody wants a scape goat.
You and everybody else who votes, including me are responsible for the
current state of affairs, not the president or anybody else, because they
are doing what we want them to or what they think that we want from them.

If we don't like the way they are running things, we vote them out, pure and
simple.
Because of the fact that we havent voted them out, that makes me believe
that they are doing what we want them too.

Now as to human rights, you have a muslim extremist incharge of iran who
deny's that a holcaust happened.
You have muslim extremists in afghanistan who are willing and want to chop
your head off if you don't grow a beard.
There are many others who have publicly gone on tv and said that they will
destroy us and our way of life.

I'm sorry folks, but when it walks and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck
and hiding your head in the sand will not make it go away.

So for me, I believe he's doing one hell of a job.

your attitude.

Be reasonable, Virgil. What am I supposed to say? That you are absolutely
right but I am a total jerk who knows nothing and therefore I must disagree
with you? I respect your opinion, Virgil but that doesn't mean that I have
to embrace it.

OK, Virgil. Convince me. What "human rights the world over" are you
talking about? Most of the world does not enjoy the level of human rights
that we Americans have today, let alone the level of human right that we
Americans HAD before the PATRIOT act.

There was a time, not too long ago, that Americans could communicate with
each other privately without worrying about who was listening in. There was
a time when Americans had the right of Habeas Corpus to provide some
protection from being jailed for no reason. Hell, there was even a time
(albeit short) that Americans did not have to worry about being suspected of
a crime because of the clothes that they wore or the color of their skin or
the lord they worshipped.

So whose human rights are we protecting, Virgil? And what civilization is
going to fall down? The one in Darfur? Chile? Afghanistan? Houston?

I am sorry if you don't like my attitude, Virgil but you really need to stop
being so defensive and start telling us why you think your opinions are
right. Geez, the worst thing that can happen is someone might learn
something!
